Broadtail AKA silk lamb is the pelt of prematurely born lamb produced by Karakul or Karakul crossbred (Persian lamb, swakara, astrakhan) sheep. These lambs are prematurely stillborn as a result of exposure to harsh environmental conditions and are the highest valued type of lamb fur. This is because skins coming from unborn lambs have a glossy, flat, wavy "moiré'" look that is highly appraised and literally loved by haute couture designers. The fur coats made from these materials inspire class without being ostentatious and it manages to turn heads without crying out loud.
In order to acquire the finest quality broadtail, our in-field experts are constantly working in the mountain villages of Inner Mongolia as well as on the green valleys of Uzbekistan. By selecting ONLY the non-damaged skins
with unique patterns, we create an assortment of luxury lamb fur plates that enable us to craft dressy fur garments that have an elegant nature as a result.
